Women of the New Testament
In the New Testament, many women are celebrated and praised for their faith and good works – as well as for their role in the Christian story.
The Parables of Christ
The gospels are full of short stories and sayings, called ‘parables’, that Christ used to teach people about the Kingdom of God.
The Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)
This parable teaches the importance of readiness for the arrival of Jesus, who is symbolised by a bridegroom. The wise bridesmaids, who were prepared for his coming, are contrasted with the foolish ones, who were not.
